Please note this is an old page and Fly Global Music has now moved. Please follow this link and search for the entry in the new site. If that hasn't put you off the DVD, relax because for the most part it is not the extreme noise terror it could be. It's more a free flowing session of jams featuring unusual instruments for jazz like the berimbau from Brasil and the talking drum. Which is not to say these guys don't make their instruments scream at times but it all seems quite contained somehow. Manageable even. Even though I am not a huge fan of Chick Corea or Pat Metheny, I must confess to finding this a pleasurable experience to listen to. As far as the camerawork etc, it is a little bit amateur at times lending the whole affair a kind of home made aesthetic. Which is kind of appropriate to the avant garde jazz vibe. So for most this is not a 'must have' but a 'nice to have' release. The DVD is presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound. Tracklisting- |
