Day 3: Waking up to a beautiful sunny Sunday morning with Big Chill Radio playing Dudley Perkins’ ‘Flowers’ and a full day ahead of awesome music listening pleasure, I almost felt as excited as a teenager – would it last?
First off, don’t let the title of this 2CD compilation put you off as the 23 tracks are not in any way second rate – this is Zero dB after all!
This is so much more than a one track album but you must be warned, there is an absolutely fantastic track that’s going to make you drop your funky rocks like hot stones.
Happy Birthday to Tru-Thoughts, 10 years young, a major achievement for any independent record label especially in these turbulent time of falling record sales, thoughtless free loaders/uploaders and distributors going bust (which happened to the label last year).
Recorded in Lyall Bay, Wellington and recently showcased live at WOMAD, the best reggae, dub, soul, jazz band in the world present their latest album… and its a grower.
