Once again Joe Davis at Far Out Recordings does it again, this time with a re-issue of a very highly sort after album that feature some of the best, if not greatest, Cuban musicians of all time! Irakere’s Cuba Libre is fantastic to say the least!
The Brazilian jazz equivalent of “dolphins, seals, birds, fish, sharks, cliffs, moonlight, glassy water” is The Wave; that means it’s another Far Out Recordings slab of excellence.
For students of all things theology, you’ll know that on the fourth day it all got a bit elemental and here’s some space inspired beats from a man who is out there, Mr. Beatnick!

The six DJs/producers known as Jazzanova have been satisfing ears and feet for years with their German based label Sonar Kollektiv, but it’s about time that they sorted out their own affairs and they’ve hit us with a monster album with Of All The Things.
What an achievement for Sonar Kollektiv reaching their 200th release! Congratulations if not chapeaux as it’s such a milestone and not only that, it’s another brilliant compilation for the label.
Need2Soul is a London based club-night and the Need2Soul label set out in 2005 to release tracks that rocked their decks. For the new V.02 double CD compilation they’ve called up a heavyweight DJ and young(ish) pretender to get mixing and it’s definitely FLY!
